Both Larry O’Donnell and Michael Moore agree that there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that cutting taxes for the top tax brackets creates jobs. Hmmmm. Paging Glenn Beck! In fact, I believe it was Beck who noted that Calvin Coolidge cut taxes quit a bit, among other things, and bam we had the roaring 20’s. Also, didn’t Reagan cut taxes too? Oh yeah, I remember the great depression in the 90’s. Oh wait…I think we were actually doing pretty good in the 90’s…something about a technology boom or something. Yes I know Reagan was President in the 80’s, but I’m sure that the 90’s would have been just as awesome if we’d kept Carter’s policies in place. Uh huh.
Even common sense tells you that if you keep taxes low for everyone, including on the top tax brackets, letting them keep their money so that they can invest it in their businesses and other businesses, hiring workers and creating whole new businesses, that economic growth will ensue and unemployment will go down. It just makes sense. But I forgot, this is MSNBC. What was I thinking looking for any discernible intelligence there.
