I don’t think I’ve seen a company brand fail as badly as Pepsi did in its attempt to market to millennials. Twitter has been set afire by liberals attacking it for it’s “tone-deaf” ad attempting to glorify protests.
Here’s the commercial that started it all – it’s kinda long and boring the most important part happens at the end, so skip around if you’re impatient:
Basically it’s a saccharine version of the protests, so that they aren’t seen as backing anything controversial, but at the end they make it appear as if all injustice can be solved by… sharing a Pepsi.
Yeah, bad idea.
They’ve been the butt of incisive jokes since the commercial hit the social media:
Pepsi exec: great job, guys. What's next?
Pepsi writer: how about 1960s footage of black people getting sprayed by hoses full of Pepsi?

Fuck Pepsi for being selfish, insensitive and using social and racial issues for a campaign and also creating a terrible soda

This #PEPSI ad is exactly why cultural diversity is NECESSARY in digital media and marketing offices! Cultural diversity is a MUST in 2017.

The best ones are when angry liberal minorities make fun of their white liberal counterparts:
The #Pepsi ad is such an accurate depiction of what happens when white people gather to talk about "diversity"

Check out Fusion’s righteous indignation here:
FYI, @Pepsi: The police state isn't pretend, the fight for social justice isn't glamorous—and this movement isn't yours to sell: pic.twitter.com/kF569h2TmP

So Pepsi has pulled the ad, apologized, and actually apologized to Kendall Jenner, which got people angry all over again!! This blew up in their faces quicker than mentos in a bottle of Coke.
Good job, morans.
