In this questioning from Grassley, former DNI James Clapper admits that YES he did unmask either a Trump official or a member of Congress. He says he cannot give more details.

Now many people will assume this is simply a smoking gun. It is not. “Unmasking” is when a U.S. person’s identity is revealed from surveillance – that can be done lawfully or unlawfully. Just that it’s being done doesn’t necessarily mean it’s unlawful.
But at least now we know that Clapper did indeed do it…
