Possibility of Flynn blackmail by Russians is a ‘STRETCH’ says Robert Gates

OK. I find this statement by Gates rather annoying. First, he says that it’s kind of a stretch to think Flynn would be blackmailed by the Russians.

Watch below:

But then he said he would have told the President.

“In all honesty, I think it’s kind of a stretch,” Gates said of any blackmailing concerns. “You know, it’s one thing if somebody working for the U.S. government has sold secrets to the other side, it’s another if they have something in their personal life that they’re hiding for which they could be blackmailed. Having evidence that they didn’t tell the truth to somebody in the same building where they work, maybe it’s just the old intel guy, is — it’s a problem. And it’s a problem, like I just said, that I would tell the president about.”

What the hell.

How was it a stretch when Flynn WAS FIRED FOR IT. So the Russians could not have leveraged the evidence that he had LIED to the VP, embarrassed the Trump administration, and risked his career as the national security advisor? AND in addition to that, NOW we know that he accepted payments from Russia illegally, but Gates thinks the Russians couldn’t have blackmailed him over all of that?!?? How does that make ANY sense at all?!?

I’m perfectly willing to accept a rational dismantling of the Sally Yates’ testimony that would exonerate Flynn and Trump, but this ain’t it.

I don’t understand your LOGIC. bro.
