Rush waited until the 3rd hour to give his take on the GOP/Obama tax deal announced yesterday because he didn’t want to be responsible for poo-pooing the deal on either side because of his influence. The bottom line is that he feels that Republicans had a much larger hand than they played, given the context of the recent elections and the deadline that would raise everyone’s taxes. Add to that list the unemployment benefit extension, and Republicans should have walked away with a lot more.
He said one caller said it best, that there was no way Obama was going to allow the middle class tax rates to go up. No way.
