Freedom Caucus says Trump will SHUT DOWN GOV’T if THE WALL isn’t funded!

WOW. This is kind of a big deal. Trust me on this one.

From Axios:

House Freedom Caucus chairman Mark Meadows says the next government spending bill, which needs to be passed at the end of September, must fund the construction of President Trump’s border wall, or else there’ll be a government shutdown.

They cite an interview on Breitbart News:

In an interview with Breitbart’s Washington editor Matt Boyle, Meadows predicted there’d be enough Republicans to block any funding package that doesn’t include money for Trump’s wall.

And he says Trump is behind the idea:

“My conversations with the President have led me to believe that there is nothing less than a full and total commitment on his part to only sign into law a funding bill that actually allows for us to start construction of a border wall on our southern border. He’s committed to do that. We’re committed to supporting him in that position.”

Wow. That would be an enormous win for Trump after so many mocked him for not doing it. Even Ann Coulter jumped off the Trump train because he wasn’t moving fast enough.

And this is where his insane negotiating tactics might win – he’s crazy enough to let Democrats think he’ll damage anything to get his way. That might give him the advantage in a chicken contest over government shutdown.

On the other hand, the media will totally cheer for the Democrats if it happens, hurting the Republicans. Will they fold once they’re pummeled by media sob stories of all the families supposedly hurt and yes, quite possibly *killed* by a government shut down?!?
