General Kelly called Jeff Sessions to talk about his career…

Well, it looks like the great Trump-Sessions feud of 2017 is over, folks.

That’s because Trump’s new chief of staff called Sessions and told him he can be BFFs with Trump again.

From ABC News:

Newly appointed White House Chief of Staff John Kelly called Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Saturday to reassure him of his job security, a senior level source familiar with the situation told ABC News.

The news of the conversation between Kelly and Sessions was first reported Wednesday by The Associated Press. It comes in the wake of a wave of criticism Sessions has taken from the president on social media, and marks one of Kelly’s first actions in his new role.

Wow.

And I’m betting that putting Stephen Miller out there today, who was Sessions’ toady, to pitch hard solutions to immigration was sort of a valentine’s card to Sessions too. Aww.

The big big big question, is whether Kelly is going to be able to tamp down Trump’s irascibility and mercurial vindictiveness. I’m going with nein.
