Even CNN’s Dana Bash believes that Mike Pompeo will end up getting a few Democratic votes for his nomination, even though they are technically undecided right now.
She explains:
Bash’s argument is basically politics, that several of these Senators like Joe Manchin are in red states that Trump easily won, and she says it would be unfathomable that they wouldn’t let Trump have his own Secretary of State.
If she’s right, then even Rand Paul’s vote against Pompeo (assuming he’s still a no after their meeting) wouldn’t matter.
