Paul Ryan just gave a pretty blunt assessment over Trump’s threat to revoke security clearances from several former Obama administration members, including John Brennan.
He claimed that Trump was just trolling the media:

Wow. So I guess that means he doesn’t believe Trump is serious about getting rid of the security clearances for Brennan, Comey, Clapper, Hayden, Rice and McCabe? To be honest I’d be shocked if Trump didn’t follow through at this point and nix them. I’m kinda surprised that Ryan thinks Trump is so glib about it.
But as Ryan points out, this is in the purview of the executive branch and Congress has nothing to do with it.
