Rudy Giuliani was just on Jay Sekulow’s radio show, saying that Trump’s legal team has responded to Mueller regarding the interview, and that this should all be over by September 1st:

On a radio show, he just said:
"We have now given him an answer... We do not want to run into the November elections. So back up from that, this should be over by September 1st."
Giuliani also reportedly said the Mueller probe would be over soon:
According to ABC News, Giuliani did say doing the interview was Trump’s decision.
