Trump just announced a few minutes ago that he will be addressing the nation tomorrow night at 9pm on both the Humanitarian and National Security crisis on the Southern Border:
I am pleased to inform you that I will Address the Nation on the Humanitarian and National Security crisis on our Southern Border. Tuesday night at 9:00 P.M. Eastern.

Not only is Trump going to address the nation tomorrow night, but he’s also going to visit the border this week as well:
President @realDonaldTrump will travel to the Southern border on Thursday to meet with those on the frontlines of the national security and humanitarian crisis. More details will be announced soon.

No doubt Trump is intending to put pressure on Democrats to fund the border wall in order to end the government shutdown, and he very well should.
But I think Trump is also laying the groundwork to declare a national emergency to build the border wall in the event Democrats continue to refuse to fund it.
I’m sure the left will go nuts over this and suggest Trump is being unconstitutional. But I believe he can easily sell the argument to the American people, explaining that he has tried everything to get Democrats to comply – even a government shutdown – and explaining his legal authority to use other funding to build the wall.
This isn’t the way I was hoping it would go down. I wanted Republicans to fund the wall in 2017. But it didn’t happen and now Democrats simply refuse to do it because they don’t want Trump to win in 2020. So this is where we are and I’m find with Trump taking this course of action should Democrats continue to be obstinate.
