This is remarkable.
In an interview with James Comey, CNN Host Christiane Amanpour actually says the 2016 chant “lock her up”, referring to the injustice of the FBI letting Hillary Clinton completely off the hook, was HATE SPEECH and asks James Comey if he regrets not shutting it down during the 2016 elections when he was FBI Director.

She not only calls the chant “hate speech” and suggests that it was dangerous and could have caused violence, but then asks Comey “should that have been allowed”.
Are you kidding me? That’s gotta be one of the most un-American things I’ve heard a CNN host say!
Thankfully, Comey answered correctly with regard to freedom of speech:
That’s not a role for government to play. The beauty of this country is people can say what they want even if it’s misleading and it’s demagoguery.
He’s right. I would add that it’s the very speech that we disagree with most that needs protection. Because once that is taken away by people like Amanpour, then there is no free speech at all.
Of course, Comey also went on to say that Republicans who respect the rule of law should have shut down the chant, saying ‘shame on them’ for not doing so. But that’s just idiotic.
The crowds at Trump rallies weren’t chanting ‘lock her up’ because they wanted to see someone innocent put behind bars because she was a Democrat, but because Hillary was guilty and still got the Jussie Smollett treatment. The FBI and DOJ completely let her off the hook because she was running for president even though she clearly violated the law.
In any event, someone needs to have a sit down with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour and school her on the basics of the Constitution and the First Amendment.
