As many of you know by now, Trump fired DHS Secretary’s Kirstjen Nielsen yesterday evening by asking for her resignation.
That makes Kevin McAleenan acting DHS Secretary for now.
But we are already hearing this morning who Trump may be considering as Nielsen’s replacement:
Per two Republicans involved in discussions, Sec. Rick Perry is being eyed for DHS. Ken Cuccinelli also on WH radar for DHS, has boosters on right in Congress. Kobach and Bondi have had their names mentioned, but seen as unlikely.

Perry is seen as the easiest to confirm for the job by top Rs and WH officials but not clear yet he’s take the post, based on my convos with sources.

Ann Coulter doesn’t like this report at all, suggesting that both Perry and Cuccinelli are ‘open-border’ Republicans:
You lose again, 3-D Trumpsters! @realDonaldTrump considering Rick Perry and Ken Cuccinelli, total 100% open borders Republicans. Not a lying conman at all. https://t.co/R2f6r2w1Jp

I also see some on Twitter who aren’t happy that Kobach’s name is seen as ‘unlikely’.
What do you think?
