This latest subpoena by the Republican Senate Intelligence Committee is getting a lot of pushback from other Republicans, as we demonstrated earlier today. But not from Democrats like Senator Blumenthal, who is already threatening prison time if Don Jr. doesn’t show up:
Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal says if Donald Trump Jr. fails to comply to a subpoena from the GOP-led Senate Intelligence Committee he should be “put in jail”: “He has no privilege, prison is the only answer” https://t.co/wRHSMOzcwT pic.twitter.com/A4wD0IfaId

Here’s a transcript of what he said:
If he fails to answer he ought to be put in jail. If he fails to comply with a lawful subpoena – he has no privilege – prison is the only answer.
Blumenthal is already accusing Don Jr. of lying, which is rich coming from him:
Subpoena for Donald Trump Jr. is the right step, as I’ve urged, to explain his apparent lies in his Judiciary Committee appearance. He told us he was only “peripherally aware” of Moscow Trump Tower talks, when actually he was in the thick of it. His demeanor gave him away. https://t.co/8DB4zmLkKx

Senator Cornyn also seems to be against this subpoena, telling CNN that he’s going to talk to Burr about this:
GOP senators siding with Trump Jr, who may defy a Senate subpoena
Cornyn: “Committee needs to wrap up its work”
Asked about Burr, Tillis: “I personally believe Democrats are just trying to keep this thing alive.”

Give all of the high-level pushback Burr is getting, it wouldn’t surprise me if we hear later today or tomorrow that the Intelligence Committee has withdrawn the subpoena.
