Well this is certainly interesting. This morning Ted Cruz grilled a State Department official, Under Secretary of State Andrea Thompson, on why they are giving Iran waivers to pursue civil nuclear energy in a known nuclear weapons facility, after it was revealed last year that Iran has been in open defiance
Ted Cruz wrote on Twitter that “The @StateDept is allowing #Iran to continue doing research in their nuclear bunker at Fordow, which Iran dug into the side of a mountain to build nuclear weapons. They are unwilling to explain to the American people why they’re doing it.”
Here’s the shortened video he posted on Twitter:

Cruz confronts Thompson on the stash of documents that came out last year via Israel that showed Iran in absolute defiance of Obama’s nuclear treaty. And while she says she has concerns about those revelations, she still won’t explain why they are issuing these waivers for a known nuclear weapons facility.
In the longer video from the hearing, Cruz says that he finds “it troubling that we’re continuing to implement parts of the nuclear deal” and says he wants to know why.
