***KRAUTHAMMER WEIGHS IN***
Carney was asked to respond to Romney criticizing Senior Advisor to the President David Plouffe over comments he made suggesting people won’t vote based on the economy as a whole, but solely on their own situations. Carney did nothing but reinforce those assumptions (via Town Hall):
Wow that is really out of touch. Talk about the bold and the stupid. They are bold because they know that the MSM will say/do anything to keep them in office thus they can say anything like this and get away with it. They are stupid if they actually think people won’t boot their butts out of office for killing this economy. People aren’t stupid like Carney suggests. Why do they think Democrats got tossed out of the House in droves last November? And things are only getting worse.
But hey, if they think that is a good strategy for 2012, then I say go for it. Shout that from rooftops because it will only make our job of removing Obama from the White House even easier.

UPDATE: Krauthammer said that Carney and Plouffe’s comments were pure Obama condescension:
The way I heard it was the gun and the God, the clingers don’t read. This is pure Obama condescension. Numbers are stuff that we in the White House, we intellectuals, we in the political class observe, talk about and read. But that’s, you know, abstract – all that ordinary people care about is what’s happening in their home. Of course everybody cares about what’s happening in their home. But ordinary Americans are aware and they read and they think and a number means something.
