A newborn baby, with its umbilical cord still attached, has been rescued after it was heartlessly dumped in a plastic bag in the woods off the side of a road in Georgia. Here is video of the rescue by Forsyth County Sheriff deputies:
Here’s more from 6ABC:
Authorities in Georgia have released dramatic bodycam video that shows the moment officers ripped open a plastic bag to find a newborn baby girl who had been abandoned on the side of the road earlier this month.
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said it continues to receive tips from across the country on the possible identity of Baby India, but is releasing portions of the video in hopes of finding credible information about her parents.
WSB-TV reported that the family who discovered the newborn said an “act of God” led them to the child on June 6.
Alan Ragatz and his teenage daughters found the little girl in a wooded area adjacent to their home after hearing strange crying sounds. They discovered the newborn girl left in a pile of leaves and sticks and a bath mat. The child was miraculously alive with her umbilical cord still in place.
The family quickly notified local authorities, and paramedics rushed the child to the hospital, where she was checked out and determined to be doing well.
Nearly three weeks after her birth, authorities said Baby India is thriving and in the care of the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services.
This is a good video that shows the hero family who found the newborn, describing what happened:
I gotta say that as soon as I watched the bodycam footage I couldn’t help but be tearfully moved by seeing such a beautiful and innocent little baby rescued, after being so callously discarded.
Seriously, what kind of monster do you have to be to do something like this? Everything in me screams how horrible this is and I can’t conceive of a mindset that would even consider something as evil as this.
But this is sadly what our culture has become. It is broken. The discarding of innocent life, whether in a clinic, a hospital or even in the woods – it’s all the same – is being praised at the highest levels of the left with legislation enshrining it as a woman’s choice.
I’m just so thankful that Baby India, while discarded in a terrible way, still has a chance at life. Hopefully one day, when the troubles of her birth haunt her so, she will understand that God is her true father and He’s the one that saved her this day.
