[UPDATED] – Horrific video shows man sucker punching elderly woman in the FACE on sidewalk in New York

Yesterday the 71st Precinct of the NYPD released a video on Twitter asking for help in identifying the man seen in this video sucker punching a woman walking down the street:

I say “woman”, because at the time I didn’t realize she was 71-years old.

Her name is Joan Baptiste and she’s grateful to be alive:

 
Thankfully, police just tweeted this a half hour ago, saying they now have a suspect in custody:

I just don’t understand this kind of senseless violence, especially against the vulnerable. But we are seeing more and more of it these days and I don’t know if it’s drugs, alcohol, or the fact that these kids have grown up on the streets with no sense of morality.
