According to new reporting this morning, Fox News anchors have recently met with advertisers to assure them that Trump does not control their network:
DC EXAMINER – Some of the network’s news hosts including Bret Baier, Martha MacCallum, and Chris Wallace addressed advertisers in Manhattan to assuage concerns that the president controls the network.
“Contrary to the opinion of some people, he’s not our boss,” MacCallum stated, according to the New York Times, while pointing out the president’s attacks against the network for airing interviews with Democratic presidential candidates. “It is kind of shocking to hear that he really — that’s the way he thinks about how we should cover the election.”
During the meeting, Wallace brought up the president’s frequent criticism of him: that he isn’t his father, former 60 Minutes correspondent Mike Wallace.
“He often likes to say about me, ‘You know, I was covered by Mike Wallace, I liked him much more,’” the Fox News anchor told the advertisers. “To which my reaction is always: One of us has a daddy problem, and it’s not me.”
It sounds like Fox News is trying to fight back against a war on their advertisers by liberal activist organizations like Media Matters, who call Fox News ‘state TV’.
The New York Times, who initially reported this, goes on to suggest that despite what the news anchors are telling advertisers, opinion hosts like Hannity have continued to show their LOYALTY to Trump: Mr. Hannity has devoted his top-rated prime-time show to denouncing the impeachment inquiry, calling it a “witch hunt” led by “the radical, destructive, delusional Democratic Party.”
Since when does calling out a phony Democrat clown show have to equal loyalty? It just shows you how far gone these MSM organizations are when it comes to Trump. And this is especially rich considering they all carried Obama’s water for eight years despite much larger scandals that what we’ve seen under the Trump administration.
