Rep. Matt Gaetz went on MSNBC this morning and, as you might expect, it was not a friendly interview. He fought with Hallie Jackson who, as he put it, was playing the Democrat game.

Here’s a few clips to give you an idea of how it went if you don’t want to watch the full interview:
“What is the fact that we are white men have to do with our desire to represent the millions of constituents we serve?” Rep. Gaetz asks after Rep. Speier describes Republicans storming hearing as “a high school prank by a bunch of 50-yr.-old white men.”

.@RepMattGaetz gets in a heated exchange with @MSNBC's @HallieJackson: "You're shifting ground now. First you say we're not involved, then you say we didn't issue the subpoenas. Those are two different things. And we are involved because our chairman launched the inquiry." pic.twitter.com/kMeyD6YLy5

.@RepMattGaetz continues: "With Mueller, with Lewandowski, Democrats looked terrible. And now they're trying to do things in secret so we can have interviews like this. So that you can cherry-pick elements of leaked testimony and then ask me about them when I wasn't in there." pic.twitter.com/Q2zdAYajEh

.@RepMattGaetz: "It is not an accident that you and I are here having this interview on terms that are very favorable to the Adam Schiff theory of the case." pic.twitter.com/dxN30MP64v

I thought Gaetz did a good job of making his argument. I don’t think it’s so much about his chairman starting the inquiry as it is about the hearings held in secret and then having selective leaks create the narrative, but it is an interesting point.
And he’s absolutely right, she is playing the game that Schiff wants her to play by pretending what was leaked out alone is proof that Trump did something wrong when can’t see the rest of the transcript and how the testimony was challenged.
