DNI to Adam Schiff: The declassified transcripts are ready to release and I’m willing to release them if you don’t!

Last week we wrote about Adam Schiff refusing to release over 50 transcripts from the Russia investigation, despite most of them having already been declassified.

The WSJ and the DC examiner both reported that their sources were saying that Schiff was refusing to make public 43 transcripts that have been declassified and is preventing the declassification of 10 others.

Well all of that appears to be changing now, as Byron York writes today, that Acting DNI Richard Grenell sent Schiff a letter on Monday informing him “all of the transcripts, with our required redactions, can be released to the public without any concerns of disclosing classified material”.

Grenell urged Schiff to release the transcripts, saying “I urge you to honor your previous public statements, and your committee’s unanimous vote on this matter, to release all 53 cleared transcripts to Members of Congress and the American public as soon as possible.”

He then added this bombshell, noting “I am also willing to release the transcripts directly from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, as to ensure we comply with the unanimous and bipartisan vote to release the transcripts.”

Most of the transcripts were cleared for release back in July of 2019. York obtained the names of the interviews that Schiff is refusing to make public:
