New poll examines whether Americans believe Joe Biden or Tara Reade

A new poll is out by Monmouth that shows a divide amongst voters as to whether they believe Joe Biden or Reade

FOX NEWS – American voters appear sharply divided on whether sexual assault allegations against former Vice President Joe Biden are credible, according to a new national survey.

Thirty-seven percent of those questioned in a new Monmouth University Poll say the allegations by former Biden staffer Tara Reade that the then-senator from Delaware sexually assaulted her 27 years ago are true, with 32 percent saying the allegations are not true and 31 percent having no opinion.

Most Democrats who’ve endorsed their party’s presumptive presidential nominee have said they believe Biden while emphasizing that his former Senate staffer’s side of the story needs to be told.

As expected, the poll illustrates a wide partisan divide, with Republicans by a 50-17 percent margin saying the allegations are probably true and Democrats by a 55-20 percent margin saying they’re likely not true.

It’s not surprise that most Republicans believe Tara Reade and most Democrats believe Biden.

But the big question is who do independent voters believe, and it looks like most of them don’t believe Biden:

Independent voters, by a 43-22 percent margin, say the allegations are likely true.

While I like the fact that independents are mainly with Republicans at this point, it’s so early in the race that I’m not sure it will matter. There are many months between now and November where I’m sure there will be bombshell after bombshell as the left tries to take out Trump. I think by then Tara Reade may be a distant memory.
