In an interview with Brian Williams from NBC, Obama, when asked about the Tea Party, quickly builds a straw man by saying that the Tea Party doesn’t believe that government has any role to play in growing our economy and in building a strong middle class. Then, instead of proceeding to knock the straw man down, he says that he believes that providing a social safety net like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are a vital for government.
Ruh? Wait, I thought we were talking about growing the economy. Unless this is some funky bit of editing by NBC, Obama sounds moronic here. He might as well have included his old faithful, unemployment, to the list.
These things don’t grow the economy, they grow the federal government:
