Louie Gohmert’s case to ensure Mike Pence has ‘sole discretion’ to reject electors dismissed

A federal judge dismissed Louie Gohmert’s lawsuit to ensure that Mike Pence has ‘sole discretion’ to choose which electors will be counted when he oversees the joint session of Congress on Wednesday:

WT – A federal judge on Friday night dismissed a lawsuit by Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas that sought to empower Vice President Mike Pence to overturn President-elect Joseph R. Biden‘s victory.

U.S. District Judge Jeremy Kernodle, a Trump appointee, dismissed the suit by Mr. Gohmert and Arizona voters that asked to give Mr. Pence the sole discretion to decide which presidential electors to choose when Congress meets next week to certify the Electoral College vote totals.

In a one-page order, the judge dismissed the complaint without prejudice “for lack of subject matter jurisdiction.”

“All pending motions are denied as moot,” the judge wrote.

I didn’t expect this one to go too far. And even if it did, I really didn’t expect Pence to overrule state legislatures.

Here’s Gohmert being interviewed about it:

While we’re on the subject of Pence, let me just ask what the heck is wrong with Lin Wood? He’s talking about arresting Mike Pence and putting him in front of a firing squad. I just don’t get it. He’s really over the top these days.
