Barney Frank: Let’s raise taxes and cut the military

Barney Frank is justifying increased taxes on those making over $250k and massive military cuts to the crowd over at the Rebuild the Dream conference:

Don’t you like the way he frames it? It’s only a piddly 40 dollars per 1k dollars. But that’s really an increase of 4%. So if you are paying 35%, then you will be paying 39%. Hmmm, that sounds like the Clinton tax rates that the Democrats are always drooling over. OK, so I guess that’s the fair share they are always blabbering about. At least for now it is until they increase spending even more.

But isn’t it always that they want more of your money to pay for their massive increases in spending? We have been running deficits of around 1.5 trillion every year since Obama was elected. But do they ever say that we need to cut spending back to the levels it was even in 2008 where we only had a deficit of less than $500 billion? Yeah, that’s huge, I know. But it’s seems small compared to the deficits Obama has been running. No, they don’t want to cut anything, really, except projections in future spending. Nothing that really would make a dent in anything.

So it comes down to the fact that Barney Frank wants more of your money and that’s all that matters. Oh yeah, he also wants to cut military spending in places where he says we don’t need it. Yeah, I really trust him to come up with a list of places where we should cut military.
