Police have just identified the shooter of the supermarket in Boulder, Colorado as Ahmad Al-Issa:
CBS DENVER – The suspect in the mass shooting at a grocery store in Boulder on Monday has been identified as 21-year-old Ahmad Al-Issa from Arvada. Ten people, including one police officer, were killed at the King Soopers store at Table Mesa Drive and South Broadway.
Al-Issa was shot in the leg by a Boulder police officer and was taken into custody. He is in the hospital and officials said his condition is stable.
Al-Issa has been charged with 10 counts of murder. There is no information about a possible motive at this time.
No photograph of the suspect is available. He will be booked into the Boulder County Jail when he is released from the hospital. Officials said they expected that to happen Tuesday afternoon.
They aren’t giving any details yet on Al-Issa regarding his life or motive, but I’m sure given his name and his age that there is already much speculation that this could be another muslim shooting.
But we should wait for the facts on this before jumping to conclusions, which is something many on the left aren’t doing considering he looks ‘white’ in the picture. There are plenty of tweets blaming this shooting on ‘white supremacism’ already. Here’s one from the niece of Kamala Harris:

I’m sure more will come out soon as people are already digging into Al-Issa’s internet life.
In the meantime, here is a very sad Boulder police chief reading the names of the mass shooting victims.

UPDATE: Here’s a little more information on Al-Issa from the folks at Heavy:
Officials said Al Issa lived “most of his life in the United States” during a Tuesday morning press conference. Authorities are looking into his background, but did not release additional information on his past. His Facebook page, which has now been deleted, said he lived in Syria until moving to the United States when he was about three years old.
“born in Syria 1999 came to the USA in 2002,” he wrote on his Facebook profile. “I like wrestling and informational documentaries that’s me.”
It didn’t take long for them to delete his Facebook page. I’ll update more when I get more.
