CNN host Alisyn Camerota literally suggested this morning that gun store owners should be asking people if they are hearing voices when they come to buy an AR-15:
CAMEROTA: "How onerous would it be to have a gun shop owner just say, 'by the way, are you hearing voices? Do you think people are chasing you? Do you think everybody is watching you?' It would have weeded out- possibly- this guy." pic.twitter.com/CdiH3DcsET

Camerota first starts out asking gun store owners to racially profile customers buying AR-15s:
Why don’t we go to gun shop owners and say ‘do you think that this 21-year-old who comes in and wants an AR-15 style weapon, do you think that he looks like he’s going hunting with this weapon?’
She then wants gun store owners to become a psychiatrists and analyze their customers:
Did you ask him ‘by the way, do you ever think people are chasing you? do you ever hear voices saying people are coming for you’? Do they ever ask questions like this because that guy, it sounds like according to his family, would have answered YES.
Toward the end of the video she reiterated her point again, saying:
How onerous would it be to have a gun shop owner just say, ‘by the way, are you hearing voices? Do you think people are chasing you? Do you think everybody is watching you?’ It would have weeded out- possibly- this guy.
Seriously? She thinks the Big Sooper’s supermarket shooter would have just admitted to the gun store owner that he hears voices and believes people are coming for him? Why not stop beating around the bush and get the gun store owner to ask him if he’s buying the weapon to murder people, because according to Camerota’s logic, he’d have said YES to that too! Because, you know, that’s what terrorists do when they’re preparing to commit mass murder, they just open up to the guy selling them the weapon about their life and how they intend to use the gun to murder innocent people.
How ridiculous Camerota has become over there at CNN. After watching her over the years, it’s more than clear why Fox News let her go.
In a related clip, here’s Camerota’s co-host being obnoxious on the same issue:
"I CHOOSE this. Let's stick with this. BOULDER IS WORKING FOR ME."
