Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller, the 17-year Marine who spoke out against military leadership over the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, was finally released from the brig last night after an agreement was reached between his lawyer and the military.
Jennifer Griffin explains:
I’m guessing the agreement that Scheller made to get out of the brig is that he will now abide by the gag order.
While Scheller is out, Griffin says he is still under a gag order and could be charged with several UCMJ violations, including ‘contempt toward officials’ and ‘willfully disobeying a superior commissioned officer’. If found guilty, these charges could lead to a dishonorable discharge for Scheller.
