Last night Senator Lindsey Graham called for someone in Russia to assassinate Putin over his invasion of Ukraine:
Is there a Brutus in Russia? Is there a more successful Colonel Stauffenberg in the Russian military?
The only way this ends is for somebody in Russia to take this guy out.
You would be doing your country – and the world – a great service.

The only people who can fix this are the Russian people.
Easy to say, hard to do.
Unless you want to live in darkness for the rest of your life, be isolated from the rest of the world in abject poverty, and live in darkness you need to step up to the plate.

Ted Cruz responded to the tweet with one of his own, saying it was an exceptionally bad idea:
This is an exceptionally bad idea.
Use massive economic sanctions; BOYCOTT Russian oil & gas; and provide military aid so the Ukrainians can defend themselves.
But we should not be calling for the assassination of heads of state. https://t.co/crPGHw9xyJ

MTG weighed in too, calling Graham’s tweet irresponsible, dangerous and unhinged:
While we are all praying for peace & for the people of Ukraine, this is irresponsible, dangerous & unhinged.
We need leaders with calm minds & steady wisdom.
Not blood thirsty warmongering politicians trying to tweet tough by demanding assassinations.
Americans don’t want war. https://t.co/l2hqiUbZGv

That’s just what we’re seeing in public. Imagine what Graham is getting behind the scenes.
There are tons of others on the right condemning this too. Here’s a smattering:
We are seeing a lot of reckless, irresponsible, and dangerous commentary right now. Really time for Republicans to step away from the failed foreign policy figures — and their failed and costly ideas and mismanagement — of recent decades. https://t.co/U84hJ06Paz

Not only does this not help, but it's not like there's some FSB general over there who's now going to spring into action because he saw this tweet https://t.co/1MlKwVaNxI
