Herman Cain: Let’s not play detective right now

Herman Cain told Hannity that it’s not time to play detective, because each new story takes a toll on his family. I think this is the first interview where you can really see how much Cain is struggling with these accusations and how they are affecting his family. I can see it in his eyes and I feel very bad for him.

He admits that he made a mistake by not telling his wife that he was helping this woman financially, and says that she’s forgiven him for it. But he says absolutely that these accusations are simply false, yet, the toll on his family has given him cause to reassess his campaign to see if he’ll continue.

I’ve never believed more than I do now that he is innocent. Sure he’s clearly made some mistakes, but nothing than makes me think any less of his character. I hope he can stay in the race, but I understand if he decides to put his family first and leave the race.
