It really doesn’t get more despicable than Joy Reid on MSNBC.
Last night she suggested that Abbott’s potential pardon of the Texas soldier who acted in self defense when shooting a BLM protester and was thus wrongly convicted of murder, that this move by Abbott was part of some pattern she’s seeing of Republicans bringing back the ‘lynching vibe’.
In case you don’t want to watch, here’s what Reid said courtesy of Newsbusters:
This feels like a pattern to me. You have Republicans in multiple states including Florida passing and pushing laws that will allow people to hit Black Lives Matter protesters or any protesters they like with their cars. This was after the Charlottesville murder by car of a white woman who was a Black Lives Matter protester. They seemed to have gotten back into lynching, hanging, all sorts of other draconian 19th-Century fare. What is going on with Republicans that they seem to be bringing back the lynching vibe?
This is what’s so despicable. Reid is intentionally mischaracterizing laws meant for self defense to push her false and way overheated racist narrative.
I wonder what would happen if she were driving and was stopped by a crowd of angry white protesters in the middle of the street who were banging on her car and potentially threatening her life. Wouldn’t she want the legal right of self defense to plow through these protesters and protect herself? And yet she wants to take that away from others because of BLM protesters, claiming a racist motivation.
Back to the issue at hand. The Texas soldier, Daniel Perry, did nothing wrong. NOTHING. The BLM protester pointed an AK-47 at him while other BLMers were banging on his vehicle. He fired in self defense and doesn’t deserve any conviction.
Abbott is absolutely right to pardon Perry and I hope he does it quickly.
Joy Reid deserves to be kicked to the curb and fired for her ridiculous remarks. No apology needed or wanted. Just fire her already.
