Larry Elder announced tonight that he is now running for president in the 2024 Republican Primary. This pits him squarely against Trump and several others, including Nikki Haley and Mike Pence.
Here’s the announcement:

Should they announce soon, he’ll also be running against Senator Tim Scott and Governor Ron DeSantis.
I really don’t see Elder rising to the top of the pack to compete directly with Trump, but you never know.
It’s also possible that by running for president, he’s making himself available to be a vice presidential pick for whomever wins. That could be very interesting.
