Suddenly today there’s a new rumor about Trump and DeSantis that kinda feels a bit hokey. The rumor has two sources on Twitter, one of which is Charlie Gasparino:
BREAKING: My GOP sources with ties to Florida's GOP leadership say the rumor is @realDonaldTrump plans to go to Tallahassee and kill this bill to totally derail @GovRonDeSantis running for prez. It's getting nasty! https://t.co/fVt36amPej

And a guy named Justin Hart. He actually had it over an hour before Gasparino:
So word is: Trump is going to Tallahassee to try and quash the revision on the law that may (or may not) prohibit a sitting governor from running for President. In other words: Trump is STILL VERY WORRIED about DeSantis getting in the race.

As I suggested I’m not sure I believe this new rumor about Trump because it feels like a big stretch, even for him.
And I’m not the only one:
These rumors are flying but it's hard to believe Trump would try to force DeSantis to resign to run for president. Would signal incredible weakness. https://t.co/YTK08AZpuN

Feels like fake story from DeSantis camp to claim the change to Florida's resign to run law is a win over Trump.

It does feel like it could be a fake story. I know Trump is desperate for DeSantis to not run against him, but I just don’t see him going to these lengths. But in case I’m wrong…
As an aside, it should be pointed out for anyone who has been trying to make hay over this law that the law was rewritten for both Charlie Crist and Rick Scott to run for federal office while governor. So rewriting it for DeSantis wouldn’t be anything new.
