Last night Byron Donalds was on News Nation and clarified his stance on Florida’s curriculum, saying it is not controversial and that the standards are “reasonable, appropriate and robust.”
Donalds says “children in Florida will learn black history and they’ll do a good job with it.”
Watch below:
However, he continues: “The only issue I have and some other members have is the one line that you just read. So if I disagree with one line, that doesn’t mean that I’m disagreeing with the curriculum set.”
He went on to blame DeSantis for making this an issue because of what he said to a local reporter. But if you recall, he’s the one that put this out:
The new African-American standards in FL are good, robust, & accurate. That being said, the attempt to feature the personal benefits of slavery is wrong & needs to be adjusted. That obviously wasn't the goal & I have faith that FLDOE will correct this.https://t.co/muq8zi1p85

And in the tweet he says the curriculum needs to be corrected on the issue of ‘personal benefits of slavery’, which is exactly the phony issue that Kamala Harris was raising. How is he still not with Kamala Harris on this if he hasn’t changed his position on this?
