Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is asking the court to set Trump’s trial date for two months from now, as opposed to her previous request of March 4.
She’s doing this because one of the defendants is requesting a speedy trial:

District Attorney Fani Willis just filed asking for an October 23, 2023 trial date for all 19 defendants in the Trump 2020 election case. This moves her requested trial timeline up 5 months. #gapol pic.twitter.com/l8pmbARNe2

So Trump gets arrested today and in two months goes to trial, all because Chesebro demands a speedy trial? For Trump this would put it square in the middle of campaign season so I’m not sure he’ll be happy about that. On the flip side, it won’t coincide with his other potential trial dates, so it could be worse.
It’ll be interesting to see how the judge will respond to such a request.
