According to Derek Hunter, the man we all knew as Joe the Plumber passed away yesterday at age 49 from pancreatic cancer. He had only been recently diagnosed last December due to stomach pain.
He leaves behind a wife and three children. According to his Give Send Go page, his family moved back to his wife’s hometown before he died so she could be with her family. His wife Katie said “I won’t forget that smile he gave me. It brought him peace knowing we were all together by family. And everyone who helped us move also brought Joe that peace. Truly, Truly Thank You!”
The page also adds this: “Recently, Joe made this comment during a Faithwire interview and it sums up his life journey: “God doesn’t promise us an easy road. He just promises to be there for us when we go on these roads.””
What a great quote. You will be missed Joe Wurzelbacher. May you rest in the peace of God’s loving embrace.
You can read more about his struggle with cancer and his family at his Give Send Go page. At the time of this writing, they have raised $133,946 out of $200,000.
Horrible news. My good friend Joe Wurzelbacher, aka Joe the Plumber, passed away this morning at the age of 49 from pancreatic cancer. He was a good man and an exceptional friend. Please consider helping his widow and young children here https://t.co/oFczc0urX2
