Former Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has just announced he is resigning from Congress at the end of this month.

McCarthy revealed his resignation in an op-ed published in the Wall Street Journal.

With Santos gone and now McCarthy, that shrinks the Republican majority to 220 – only seven votes ahead of Democrats.
