BREAKING: Speaker Johnson to ‘strongly suggest’ Ethics committee not release report on Matt Gaetz

House Speaker Mike Johnson will ‘strongly suggest’ that the House Ethics committee not release the report on former Rep. Matt Gaetz, who will be going through a Senate confirmation process for Attorney General next year.

According to a Politico reporter, Johnson said “I’m going to strongly request that the Ethics Committee not issue the report because that is not the way we do things in the House, and I think that would be a terrible precedent to set.”

Given that this was criminally investigated by Joe Biden’s corrupt DOJ and they found nothing worthy of prosecution, I think releasing this report would be a huge mistake as it will only lead to Gaetz being smeared before his confirmation hearings.

I agree with Johnson on this – although from the way it sounds it is not his decision. Also Gaetz is no longer in the House so what would releasing this report accomplish other than to smear his name.
