We reported earlier that Secretary of State Marco Rubio told Panama’s president that if he didn’t end his relationship with China, when it comes to the Canal, Trump would take necessary measures to protect the treaty the US made with Panama over the Canal.
Shortly after their meeting, the president of Panama announced he would not only not renew the country’s contracts with China, but he would look at trying to end the current contracts early:
Panama will not renew the memo 2017 with China on its Belt and Road Initiative. Panama will study the ability to end the agreement earlier than its end date in a year or two.
MASSIVE win for @SecRubio
