BREAKING: HHS reducing workforce by 20,000 employees

It was just announced by HHS Secretary RFK Jr. that the department will be cutting 10,000 employees on top of another 10,000 that took President Trump’s buyout deal.

Here’s the news via WAPO:

The Department of Health and Human Services is cutting nearly a quarter of its workforce and consolidating several of its departments, Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced Thursday.

The moves will save the sprawling department about $1.8 billion annually, the agency said in a news release, by reducing staff from 82,000 to 62,000. Half of those employees took buyouts and early retirement, while 10,000 will lose their jobs.

20,000 employees is a big deal to cut and $1.8 billion annually is a ton of money to save. This is what we voted for and I hope they can do more of this in the future.
