The House just passed the SAVE Act, which requires proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections, and they did it with four Democrats who came over to make it 220-208.
The four Democrats who voted for the bill hailed from the states of Washington, Maine, Texas and Hawaii:
- Ed Case – Hawaii
- Henry Cuellar – Texas
- Jared F. Golden – Maine
- Marie Gluesenkamp Perez – Washington
Now the bill will go to the Senate where, if it can overcome a filibuster, it will pass and head to the desk of the President. You’d think this would be a lay up to pass, but Democrats hate putting up obstacles that can prevent voter fraud. That’s always been their MO and that’s not likely to change now.
