BREAKING: President Trump tells Republicans to make daylight savings time pemanent

Earlier this year President Trump suggested there were strong feelings on both sides of the Daylight Savings Time debate, which led me to believe he hadn’t taken a position himself. But today he made clear that he has indeed taken a position and wants an end to the “changing of the clocks”, telling Republicans they need to make DST permanent.

Here’s what he said:

The House and Senate should push hard for more Daylight at the end of a day. Very popular and, most importantly, no more changing of the clocks, a big inconvenience and, for our government, A VERY COSTLY EVENT!!! DJT

Polls do show that a majority want DST ended and I think it would be wonderful to have more daylight in the evenings year around. But will Republicans actually do it?

UPDATE: I had idea backwards and I corrected it.
