President Trump is in Canada for the G7 and was asked whether he’s heard anything from Iran in terms of wanting to deescalate and come back to the negotiating table. Trump has called on Iran to make a deal in recent days, but today he didn’t seem as open to it and suggested they had 60 days to do it and they didn’t.

Iran’s position is that they wouldn’t be part of negotiations as long as they are under fire. I think Trump’s point here is that, even with the Israeli strikes, Iran needs to come back to the negotiating table and make a deal before it’s too late. In other words, Iran doesn’t get to do this on their term anymore.
