Politifact once again rushes in to defend a prominent Democrat, this time it’s Zohran Mamdani, after his very communistic remarks emerged from 2021.
Here’s what they posted this morning:
Zohran Mamdani, a democratic socialist, in 2021 used the phrase “seizing the means of production.” He did not elaborate on that and we could not find evidence that it was part of his 2025 New York City mayoral platform.https://t.co/nV9U0lrrAS

The quote Mamdani in the article:
“But then there are also other issues that we firmly believe in, whether it’s BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions of Israel), right, or whether it’s the end goal of seizing the means of production, where we do not have the same level of support at this very moment.”
…because it is critical for us to both meet people where they’re at and to also organize and organize for what is correct and for what is right and to ensure over time we can bring people to that issue.”
And yet, because he didn’t elaborate, they have no clue what he really meant. LOL. Seriously, he even called it the ‘end goal’ and admitted this communist ideal didn’t have the levels of support he wants to see, which means they need to ‘organize and organize’ to ‘ensure over time we can bring people to that issue’.
Politifact also barely mentioned Mamdani’s tweet suggesting New York City needed a communist mayor, but they left out the word ‘communist’ and said they weren’t going to dwell on it. This is the tweet:
Politifact writes “The spokesperson sent us a June 30 New York Post article highlighting Mamdani’s 2021 remarks as a newly elected state assemblyman and a 2020 Mamdani tweet praising a young leader. (We won’t dwell on the latter post because Mamdani’s point isn’t clear.)”
This mayor is literally part of the Communist Party of India, and his point isn’t clear??? Unreal.
Politifact was heartily mocked on X this morning after posting this:
We may never know what "seizing the means of production" means.
There's simply no historical context for such a statement. It's the mystery of our age. https://t.co/LlMvgou6zd

So the guy who wants the government to acquire housing and create communes is not communist.
You people at @Politifact work 3 times harder to spin away basic facts. https://t.co/LWe9t8Oa1P— Brad Slager: CNN+ Lifetime Subscriber (@MartiniShark) July 4, 2025

FACT: @AmySherman1 is the liberal propagandist who wrote this nonsense pretending to not know what Mamdani meant by “seizing the means of production.” https://t.co/7HNdr29HEG
