Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced today that he’s reinstituting rigorous basic training again in the military, pointing out the need to ensure that all recruits are made into strong and capable warriors.
Here’s what he said:
I can remember my nephew telling me years ago that when he joined the military, their version of basic training back then was really soft. When they went out for daily runs, one could only run as fast as the slowest person in your unit. He seemed to think it was very soft, so what Hegseth is doing now is very much needed and I’m glad he’s doing it.
