DHS is not afraid of calling out lies from Democrats, and they did so today with both California Governor Gavin Newsom and Illinois Senator Dick Durbin.
First up, Gavin Newsom, who actually claimed that the state honors ICE detainers:

Notice the word games he’s playing: “convicted criminals.”
DHS responded and they brought receipts:

Hector Balderas-Aheelor has been previously deported FOUR times and committed a felony when he illegally entered for a fifth time. This violent criminal must be deported ASAP.

DHS also called out the blatant lies of the corrupt Democrat Senator from Illinois, who claimed that ICE is arresting American citizens:

Stop fear-mongering. ICE does NOT arrest or deport U.S. citizens.
If a U.S. citizen is arrested, it is because they have obstructed or assaulted law enforcement. What makes someone a target for immigration enforcement is if they are illegally in the U.S.—NOT their skin color, race, or ethnicity.
Secretary Noem has been clear: rioters will not stop us or slow us down.
