BREAKING: DHS smacks CBS News for FALSE reporting on American citizen being detained by ICE agents

CBS News tried to generate outrage yesterday by posting this video of a brat being detained by ICE agents while yelling that she’s an American citizen and needs help:

A U.S. citizen was forcibly removed from her car by federal agents in Key Largo, Florida on Wednesday after she refused to present her driver’s license and roll down her window when stopped, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said.

She was placed in a patrol vehicle while agents searched her car, located her driver’s license and confirmed she was a U.S. citizen. She was then released.

They are suggesting that ICE is now stopping American citizens to find out if they are illegals, and detaining them if they don’t comply.

But that’s NOT what happened.

DHS spox Tricia McGlaughlin explains that the brat was driving her illegal alien boyfriend’s car, and then refused to comply with officers when they made the stop:

During a traffic stop, a U.S. citizen, who was driving her illegal alien boyfriend’s car (who had been arrested prior) refused to comply with law enforcement’s repeated lawful orders to identify herself. She was removed from the vehicle and briefly held while her identity was confirmed.

This is consequences 101 of not complying with lawful orders.

The traffic stop was connected to the arrest of her illegal alien boyfriend, which is crucial context to understand why this happened.
