BREAKING REPORT: Iran fires drone at US aircraft carrier in Arabian Sea

It’s being reported that an Iranian drone has just been shot down by a US aircraft carrier in the Arabian Sea.

The drone was headed for the USS Abraham Lincoln when it was shot down by an F-35 fighter jet.

The U.S. military shot down on Tuesday an Iranian drone that approached the Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier in the Arabian Sea, a U.S. official told Reuters on Tuesday.

The Iranian Shahed-139 drone was flying towards the carrier and was shot down by a F-35 U.S. fighter jet.

 
UPDATE: Open Source Intel says this isn’t the first incident this week, writing:

• Iranian drone loitered near the USS Abraham Lincoln after being warned to stay clear yesterday

• Iranian gunboats surrounded the U.S. flagged tanker STENA IMPERATIVE, which is part of the U.S. Navy’s Tanker Security Program

• Maritime Risk Management Group Vanguard said the vessel remained in international waters and did not enter Iran’s territorial seas

• An Iranian Shahed 139 drone was shot down by a USAF F 35 fighter as it flew toward the USS Abraham Lincoln today
