A man who has been held hostage by the Taliban in Afghanistan for over a year is now free, thanks to President Trump and Secretary of State Rubio.
Dennis Coyle is now on his way back to America, and Katie Pavlich posted a photo of him below in his newfound freedom:
JUST IN EXCLUSIVE: The first photo of American Dennis Coyle as a free man.
President Trump said during our @NewsNation interview on January 20, 2026 that he would work to get Dennis released. He directed his team to get it done and two months later, Dennis is coming home.

Pavlich asked Trump about Coyle in January when she interviewed him, and he said then he’d look into it and absolutely followed through.
Rubio wrote on X:
Earlier this month, I met Molly, Amy, and Patti as they asked for help freeing their brother Dennis Coyle from detention in Afghanistan. Today, Dennis is on his way home. We thank the UAE and Qatar for their support. The release is a positive step towards ending the practice of hostage diplomacy.
He also released this statement:

This is what a responsive and caring federal government looks like. Do you think sleepy Joe could have ever done this? Hell no.
