The Senate bill to partially fund DHS is apparently dead on arrival in the House, with multiple Republicans rejecting it out of hand.
Like Chip Roy:
Speaker Johnson is reportedly changing the bill, wanting it to be a 60-day funding bill, that would fund ICE and CBP:
News: Johnson is pitching members on a clean 60 day CR that would fund ALL of DHS, including ICE, I’m told. This would send the package back to the Senate and require them to come back to end the DHS shutdown.
Nothing is final yet, but this is the pitch he is making. Dems unlikely to go for this in either chamber.

When Johnson was reportedly asked about the Senate reconvening to vote on this or any changes to their bill, he said the Senate has gone ‘dark’:
Per source on call:
Rep. Ann Wagner asking: “Has the Senate agreed to come back?”
Speaker Johnson replies: “The Senate went dark and did not communicate with us” – Johnson

Someone said they are probably all at the airport trying to get home. Either way, this shutdown is far from over. Thank goodness President Trump acted to get TSA agents paid.
